TRUMP HOSTS THE FIRST CABINET MEETING OF THE SECOND TERM BY HIS SIDE WITH” ADVISER” ELON MUSK.
Trump furthered his desire to cut the federal government’s budget afterwards on Wednesday during a Cabinet meeting.
” We’re cutting down the size of government. We have to. We’re bloated. We’re sloppy”, Trump said. ” We have a lot of people that don’t arise”.
The letter defended the effort to reduce federal employment by claiming that the 2.4 million-strong federal labor was a burden on taxpayers.
” The federal government is expensive, inadequate, and deeply in debt. It fails to deliver benefits for the British government at the same time. Instead, tax money are being taken from taxpayers to pay for pointless and wasteful programs that benefit radical interests while harming British citizens, according to the letter.
The letter outlines a two-part work, with the first phase focused on “agency breaks and cuts”, while” Phase 2″ may necessitate a vision to make firm businesses more productive and efficient.
The White House also particularly outlined seven” tools” office and company heads should use when creating their programs, including:
Continually adhering to the hiring ice described in the National Memorandum Hiring Freeze on January 20, 2025
Establishing inside procedures that make sure organization leadership has access to all prospective work provides and candidates and prior to extending offers.

— Separating reemployed identify in regions that are likely to be RIF-exempt
— Renegotiating collective bargaining agreement ( CBA ) provisions that would prevent improved government efficiency and accountability.

The White House has already slowed down the workforce, with hundreds of cuts and at least 75, 000 employees signing the delayed withdrawal offer, according to the letter.
The letter was sent on Wednesday the evening Trump hosted the opening Cabinet meeting of his second term, at which time he reaffirmed efforts to include department heads reduce their own workforces.
Before mentioning Environmental Protection Agency staff cuts projected at 65 %, Trump said,” We’re going to ask them to do their own DOGE.”
Elon Musk, the de-facto head of the Department of Government Performance, took part in the meeting, speaking next only to Trump despite never being a Cabinet part.

In addition, he has sparked conflict with numerous section and company heads, including FBI Director Kash Patel, regarding DOGE’s increasing stringent requirements for federal employees, including an email requiring employees to provide five bullet points describing the tasks they had to complete in the previous week. Mush and Depends argued that a cancellation of jobs would be a result of not complying.
During Wednesday’s Cabinet conference, the president himself backed up Musk, saying that national people who haven’t responded to DOGE’s five factors contact are “on the bubble”.
” Maybe they’re going to be gone. Sometimes they’re not near. They might have other tasks. Sometimes they moved, and they’re hardly where they’re supposed to be. A lot of things may include happened”, Trump said.
