Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, was a subject of a memory of documents released by the Justice Department on Thursday, including his contact information, trip records, and evidence that was gathered against him. However, the nearly 200-page record did not reveal any significant new details, mostly reaffirming earlier reports about Epstein’s high-profile associations.
Mick Jagger, Alec Baldwin, Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson, and Ethel Kennedy, the mother of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the former governor of New York, were among the names on the email list found by the DOJ. Andrew Cuomo, diva Naomi Campbell, and singer Courtney Love. Some listed included Bob Weinstein, nephew of disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, businessman David Koch, late Sen. Ted Kennedy, professional Ralph Fiennes, attorney Alan Dershowitz, former Secretary of State John Kerry, professional Dustin Hoffman, business Jon Huntsman, Ivana and Ivanka Trump, and design Liz Hurley. To remove private contact information, the record was redacted.
Although the document launch revealed details about Epstein’s system, it was not a” consumer listing” and did not confirm any direct links to those listed in illegal activities. The Court also included a redacted record of 254 masseuses, blacking out their titles as they were considered patients. Also, the cement contained trip reports from Epstein’s private flight, the” Lolita Express”, which had previously been made open with omissions.
Sorrow over lack of new statements
The launch, described as” Phase One”, was met with disappointment by those expecting major discoveries. Traditional critic Liz Wheeler, who was given first access to the documents, told supporters in a broadcast,” We’re all waiting for revelations… and that’s not what’s in this cement at all”.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla. ), who leads a House GOP task force on government transparency, also criticised the release. ” THIS IS NOT WHAT WE OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ASKED FOR, AND IT IS A MANY THING. GET US THE ASKED FOR”! she tweeted.
Attorney General Pam Bondi claimed a see informed her that the FBI’s New York office had demanded admittance to more documents. She has set a Friday deadline for the FBI to release the unfinished records.
FBI commitments total clarity
FBI director Kash Patel assured the people that there would be” no cover-ups, no missing records, and no jewel left untouched”. He vowed that the DOJ did receive the information if they had been secret, openly and publicly disclosed.
Epstein’s “little dark text” had recently surfaced in legal proceedings and was made public in 2015. That type, dated 2004-2005, included brands such as past New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Prince Andrew, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, song Jimmy Buffet, and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. A distinct 1990s-era book after surfaced, containing 349 brands, including numbers not in the 2015 type, such as President Trump, businessman Carl Icahn, and former New Republic editor Marty Peretz.
Epstein’s previous and future transactions of documents
In 2008, Epstein admitted guilt to infant prostitution in Florida and was sentenced to a 13-month prison term in violation of a contentious work-release agreement.
On Fifth Avenue in New York, a version of Epstein’s 1990s phone book was discovered, and it eventually sold for$ 425 on eBay. The buyer, Vermont social studies teacher Christopher Helali, now plans to auction it in March, expecting it to fetch up to$ 50, 000.
Although it’s not yet clear whether further Epstein-related data will be made available, the binder’s designation as” Phase One” suggests that more disclosures may come along.
