A Boeing aircraft had to periodically kill its landing at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Tuesday to prevent colliding with a different Boeing aircraft as it was taking off from the airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration stated in a statement following the incident that” An air traffic controller directed American Flight 2246 to perform a go-around at Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA ) Airport to ensure separation was maintained between this aircraft and a previous departure from the same runway.”
The Federal Aviation Administration noted that the “go-around” event with American Airlines Flight 2246 occurred at approximately 8: 20 a. m. nearby day on Tuesday.
The Federal Aviation Administration defined a healthy, regular maneuver as” a go-around,” which can be requested by a captain or an air traffic controller. It stops the landing approach and returns the plane to a construction and altitude that allows for a safe second approach. The air traffic controller and the aircraft are in complete control of the situation.

Since the go-around movement is no “abnormal” and may occur “nearly every day in the National Airspace system,” American Airlines confirmed in a speech obtained by The Hill that it has a “no-fault go-around policy.”

According to Fox News, Southwest Flight 2504 was also forced to quickly start a go-around maneuver after touching down on the tarmac of the Chicago Midway International Airport in a related airplane incident on Tuesday. The outlet reported that a private plane pulled in front of the aircraft, forcing the Southwest Airlines flight to take off once more.
