As Huey Lewis, the sainted troubadour of the 1980s, when said,” Sometimes, bad is bad.” And, don’t we all agree that methadone is poor? I don’t even have to mention that, but alas, this is the world in which we live.

We may ask why a group of Democrats is trying to stop a bill that had completely classify fentanyl analog drugs under Schedule I because we can all agree that it is negative.
Medications or materials that are deemed to have a great potential for abuse, no current accepted medical use in treatment in the United States, and a lack of recognized health for use even under medical supervision are included in a Schedule I classification under U.S. federal laws. The Controlled Substances Act, which was established in 1970 to regulate drugs based on their medical value and risk of misuse, applies to this category, which is the most restrictive.
This sounds like the proverbial no-brainer/slam dunk given the myriad of risks posed by the use and trade of fentanyl. Even has bipartisan support for it. However, there are a few partisans who are trying to halt or even halt the bill, such as Senate Democrats Cory Booker, Sheldon Whitehouse, and Ed Markey. Booker wants to expand the HALT Act’s provisional scheduling of fentanyl in order to fortify tougher penalties for drug use. Whitehouse and Markey contend that the act would lead to extensive minority inmates and interfere with research on fentanyl analogs. Always follow the rules.

According to American Wire, parents who have lost children to fentanyl were unrepentant in any way. In a letter to Booker, Jaime Puerta, who lost his son to the drug, wrote,” Continuing resolutions to accommodate the scheduling aspect of fentanyl analogs is simply a way of kicking the can further down the road.” In the United States, fentanyl and its analogs have been the leading cause of overdose deaths, with synthetic opioids accounting for over 74 000 fatalities in 2023 alone. Your refusal to support the HALT Fentanyl Act ignores the rising death toll and the devastating effects it has had on families and communities all over the country.  ,
Lauri Badura addressed a letter to Senate leadership that included the following:
How can the general public have faith that Congress will address the bigger issue of the daily illegal fentanyl crossing our borders? I am not the only one who is urging the HALT Fentanyl Act’s passage. Families from all over the United States are in your states! Those who lost a child or loved one to fentanyl poisoning are calling for the bill to be passed. Our children did not wish to pass away.
What then? George Soros, everyone’s favorite Bond villain, is here to stay. The outlet noted that a Soros-backed non-profit that has presented the same contentions as Booker, Whitehouse, and Markey, accounts for a large portion of the criticism of the HALT Act. That makes sense, I suppose. It’s difficult to destroy and remake a nation that is trying to survive in chaos, but a Soros group would be opposed to stopping or even stemming the flow of fentanyl into the United States. Naturally, Booker, Markey, and Whitehouse are arguing. Unknown what they get from the deal, but it most likely involves money.

Soros is currently at his full potential. In addition to the above-mentioned point, earlier this week, the Free Beacon reported that the Soros-supported organizations” Indivisible” and” MoveOn” have been organizing efforts at a grassroots level in some of the demonstrations against DOGE.

Which is more frightful, the would-be dictators and the lengths they will go to to consolidate power and wealth, or the populace, particularly the legislators who support them?
