His petition claims that the school fired him and subsequently posted a job opening in his office encouraging people from applying to other departments.
According to the lead prosecutor in the case, the University of Illinois Chicago fired a teacher because he is a” white man” who criticized the university’s racist hiring practices.
According to a press release from the law firm, Professor Stephen Kleinschmit ( pictured ) is the subject of the lawsuit, whose contract was terminated after he criticized the university’s racially discriminatory hiring practices.
Direct attorney Reilly Stephens recently told The College Fix in a new phone interview that it was very obvious that he was not a white man.
Kleinschmit was fired in August of 2023, according to Stephens, who later posted a career entry in his office encouraging minority candidates to use.
Additionally, the prosecutor told The Fix that” they let him go at a stage in the year when it was essentially difficult for him to get an equal job.”
A philanthropic, nonpartisan law firm that seeks to defend basic rights, Liberty Justice Center, is suing for injuries as a result of his fire.
Kleinschmit, a scientific affiliate professor in the Department of Public Policy, Management, and Analysis, “became concerned about the school’s fixing on culture when interviewing and hiring faculty,” according to the media release.
He “quickly realized that a number of university courses were prohibited by federal law because they frequently used culture as a pre- or perhaps special consideration in hiring decisions.”
According to the petition, he received a realize that the common school had terminated his contract after speaking out against these practices.
Additionally, the lawsuit accuses school administrators of “purposely” allowing him to wait until the hiring pattern for the academic year was over.

When questioned about Kleinschmit’s intentions regarding the coat, Stephens claimed that the doctor “really cares about shining a light on these issues and the fact that these kind of plans are in the region, and this is just one example of what’s been going on.”
When asked about the wider social environment, he responded,” This is everyday at this time.
The lawyer told The Fix that” we think it’s high time that people tried a little bit about it and drive back on things that have actually turned into only follies and that the only reason they survive is in the oxygen-free atmosphere of a school school.”  ,
He stated that Liberty Justice Center is hopeful that” this is a part of a longer-term effort where we as a society put our foot down and say no more.” We don’t want to be this person.
In an email to The Fix last week, the university stated that it would not comment on pending litigation.
Cases like Kleinschmit’s are “unfortunately all-too-common,” according to Leigh AnnO’Neill, managing director of legal advocacy for the Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism ( FAIR ).
In an email to The Fix, she wrote that “higher education has been a hotbed of discriminatory diversity, equity, and inclusion practices for years, and there’s frequently an unsettling attitude that our civil rights laws don’t apply to colleges and universities.”
She continued,” Hiring based on race, skin color, or ethnicity has been prohibited in America for decades, but noting this out loud continues to stoke ire, condemnation, and retaliation, as Professor Kleinschmit saw.
” Honoring true diversity should always be a welcome virtue within academia, “O’Neill said, and when universities engage in discriminatory practices in violation of Federal Law and our constitutional rights, they undermine this significant American tradition.
She predicted that unless universities make changes, Americans will soon experience more lawsuits like Professor Kleinschmit’s.
Higher education institutions must use this opportunity to uphold civil rights laws, she told The Fix, and set a good example for American students of how our institutions can embrace true diversity in a legal and holistic way.
