Israel supported a US-proposed prepare to stretch the second stage of the Gaza agreement through Ramzan and the Jewish event Passover, announcing a temporary ceasefire in exchange for the release of hostages.
Hamas has so far rejected the suggestion, instead moving on to the second stage of the peace, which aims to bring an end to the conflict and guaranteeing the release of all victims.
The second phase of the truce, which was actually completed on January 19, came to an end on Saturday, March 1.
What does Israel suggest?
A model proposed by US minister Steve Witkoff may expand the ceasefire through April 20 has been accepted by Israel. Under the circumstances:
- Half of the hostages who were still alive and dead would remain free on the first day.
- If a continuous peace is reached at the conclusion of the peace, the remaining captives will also be freed.
The choice was confirmed by a declaration from the business of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which read:
” Israel agrees to a temporary peace during the Ramadan and Passover,” according to US negotiator Steve Witkoff. Half of the living and dying hostages will be released on the first day of the platform, and if there is agreement on a permanent ceasefire, the remaining life and dying hostages will be released upon its realization.
Israel is still committed to the captive deal, but it still has the opportunity to re-enter fighting if negotiations fail, according to the declaration.
Israel has not been found to have broken the deal, despite Hamas having constantly broken it. If Israel believes the conversations have failed, it may return to fighting after the 42nd time, according to the contract.
Why does Hamas reject the idea?
Israel’s program is being refuted by Hamas, who claims it is in contravention of the agreed agreement framework. Instead of extending the initial phase of the peace, the group insists on moving forward with the second phase, which would require negotiations for a permanent end to the conflict.
A senior Hamas national claimed that the most recent discussions regarding the second stage of the peace with Israel have” no development.”
A Hamas standard stated in an octonym that the plan was meant to halt the long-term truce negotiations that were going to break out. The party has reiterated its commitment to the initial peace, saying:
Hamas has reiterated its total commitment to putting all of the words and phases of the agreement into full force and is calling on the worldwide community to press Israel to move on to the second phase.

What occurs future?
The two parties are currently at a standstill. Israel stated that it would engage in discussions regarding the peace extension “if Hamas changes its position”.
Hamas and other negotiators, including Egypt and Qatar, insist that the current peace protocol must be adhered to without modification.
The immediate course of the peace is questionable because Hamas has recently left and Jewish diplomats have returned home. The results will likely depend on how much global pressure, particularly from US and Arab mediators, can help close the diplomatic ties between the two parties.
In the interim, the conflict is still taking a significant burden. More than 48, 000 Palestinians have been killed, according to Gaza wellness leaders, while Israel estimates that 32 of the remaining 59 victims have died.
As negotiations drag on, hostage’s families in Israel are voicing loudly their demands for a bargain and urging their state to carry on the peace.
