Vivek Ramaswamy has found himself at the centre of an unusual controversy after an old clip of him giving a barefoot interview at home resurfaced online, sparking backlash and accusations of being “uncivilised” and even “anti-American.”
The 39-year-old businessman and former presidential candidate, who is now running for governor of Ohio, was unharmed last year during a life flow. Since then, the video has been popular on social media, causing a lot of outcry.
Commentator Ian Miles Cheong addressed the most recent discussion, stating that the “dumbest debate I’ve heard against Vivek is that going outdoors in your own home is anti-American.” I believe that too many people grew up watching shows where they put their boots in the base.
” Vivek will never be the Ohio government. One critic on X ( previously Twitter ) wrote,” This is unacceptable for America.” Another remarked,” Sometimes at least have some boots on while you interview for a place in the most powerful empire on the planet, yeah”
A second customer criticized Vivek’s decision to avoid walking and wrote,” Vivek lectures us about schooling while outdoors. ” Uncivilized”
Some defended Ramaswamy, pointing out that it is common to remove shoes inside of buildings, especially in South and East Asia. Democratic analyst Kim Iversen made the comment,” I understand this is a’culture’thing, but you non-Asians wearing sneakers in your houses need a lifestyle shift,” he said.
She continued,” You can’t wear socks in my house, and not only do we take off our shoes. Four people have now fallen on their own because I have all hardwood floors.
Another person backed her position, saying that” shoes in a home are disgusting.” This is not a historical issue, but rather a health issue.
When asked for comment, Ramaswamy himself responded, saying,” This is America, folks. When I’m ready, I let the dogs out of my home.
Conversations about health were likewise reignited by the debate over his naked interview. Wearing shoes home is a danger of tracking in dangerous bacteria, pesticides, and yet faecal matter from open places, according to experts.
Some liberals have criticized Ramaswamy’s history, but others have praised his response. One social media users wrote,” Vivek showed intense group when Coulter stated straight out because of his race she did not vote for him.” He maintained the conversation without ever developing an insulted or victim culture. Bravo to him.
