Following what he called a “diplomatic loss” during a uncomfortable meeting with US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance at the White House on Friday, Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Dubinsky has called for the impeachment of President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In a fiery post on X,Zelensky was attacked by Dubinsky, who claimed that the incident signaled the end of his command.
The White House’s public disgrace of Zelensky, Trump’s acknowledgment of his political failure, and Ukraine’s loss of absolute US support, according to Dubinsky, are the “final act of the regime’s collapse.” He claimed Zelensky was behind the oppressive regime in Ukraine.
Push for Impeachment
Dubinsky has demanded an immediate legislative session to initiate the impeachment process, citing three important factors:
- He claims that Ukraine has lost important allies and is now isolated abroad.
- He attributes a “lost war” to Zelensky’s authority, who made disastrous military decisions.
- He accuses Zelensky of deceiving political critics and consolidating energy.
” Zelensky believed he could impose power over Ukraine. Dubinsky declared,” He has lost then,” and urged the legislature to take action right away.
Oleksandr Dubinsky: Who is He?
Dubinsky has been a part of Ukraine’s parliament since 2019. He is not a regular subject of discussion. He was detained in 2023 on fear of spreading false information about the management of Ukraine. In 2021, the US sanctioned him on suspicion of being involved in a Russian control channel and of having interfered with the US election in 2020.
Dubinsky’s demand for impeachment could include new social unrest to Ukraine’s currently fragile landscape as tensions mount in Kyiv and Washington’s help waning.
Do the parliament of Ukraine dare to challenge Zelensky at this crucial time?
