In response to US President Donald Trump’s repeated quips about making Canada the 51st state, artist Mike Myers issued a clear communication during his wonder appearance on Saturday Night Live, wearing a strong T-shirt read” Canada is not for selling.”
The Scarborough-born artist, who was reportedly dressed as a response to Trump’s comment and tax threats against Canada, appeared in the show’s final picture along with number Shane Gillis and American singer-songwriter Tate McRae.
A humorous ode to the White House
Elon Musk was portrayed by Myers in an unexpected cameo earlier in the episode, in a sarcastic re-enactment of the new stressful Oval Office conference between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. His Musk character, who wielded a chainsaw, interrupted the fictitious exchange, which heightened the democratic humor of the episode.
As the funds began to roll, Morris even mumbled “elbows up” while gesturing, a potential nod to Canadians ‘ unwavering support in the face of US force.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford, who met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and provincial leaders in January, took a similar position with Myers ‘ silent protest.
Trump’s rhetorical debate and Morris ‘ delicate, pointed SNL appearance lighten a political conversation while simultaneously bringing in some fun.
