MOSCOW: Sergei Lavrov, the head of Russia’s international ministry, Sunday praised President Trump’s “common sense” aim to end the war in Ukraine, but accused European powers which have rallied around Kyiv of seeking to prolong the conflict. Lavrov said the US still wanted to be the world’s most powerful country and that Washington and Moscow would never see eye to eye on everything, but they had agreed to be pragmatic when interests coincided.
According to Lavrov, the design of US-China relationship should be created so that Russia and the US can pursue a lot of “mutually valuable things” without allowing disagreements to lead to hostilities. Lavrov described Donald Trump as a “pragmatist” in the Russian defense journal Krasnaya Zvezda. His phrase” popular feel” is true. People can see that it refers to a change to a different way of doing things.
” But the objective is also MAGA,” Lavrov said. This gives politics a vibrant, people feel. That’s why it’s exciting to collaborate with him.
Lavrov criticized Europe, claiming that it has been the furnace of” all the calamities of the world” including the Crimean War, Napoleon Bonaparte, World War One, and Hitler for the past 500 times. He disputed the idea of sending in a regiment of German soldiers and claimed that Russia did not approve of Western efforts to support Zelensky.
