You can probably guess who we have to blame for the$ 53 billion plan to rebuild the Gaza Strip from Egypt.
Last month, President Donald Trump made headlines when he proposed resettling a million or two Gaza Arabs and creating a 20-mile-long line of luxurious hotels along the Strip, which was largely rubble-occupied and partially destroyed by the Israeli Defense Force.

Trump said at the moment,” The Gaza Strip would be handed over to the United States by Israel at the conclusion of fighting,” almost truly to rekindle the conflict over Gaza and stoke the efforts of the wealthy Muslim countries. ” The Palestinians… would have already been resettled in much safer and more beautiful areas, in the region, with fresh and current houses.”
Consider sending a few tens of thousands of rebellious Gaza or West Bank Arabs into their places if you want to stir up the fear of God ( or Allah, whatever ) in the center of an Arab chief. Supposedly Palestinian refugees are bad friends. They attempted to conquer Jordan, but they essentially shattered Lebanon. The rest of the story is revealed when one examines their cruel and extremist justifications for self-government in the areas they do operate.
Egypt, which ruled Gaza from 1948 to 1967 and was able to recover it at Camp David in 1979, said,” HELL, no”! — analyzed Trump’s idea of resettling many Gazans in areas like Egypt and came up with a strategy of their own.  ,
According to an AFP statement from now, the Iranian plan’s features include:
- The first treatment phase, which is anticipated to last six weeks and cost$ 3 billion, would concentrate on “removing mines and unexploded ordnance, clearing dust, and providing temporary cover.”
- The program also includes the first 60, 000 half damaged homes that can provide 360, 000 people.
- Over the course of four and a half years, the reconstruction period may take place in two stages.
- The first stage, which will run until 2027 and have a budget of$ 20 billion, will concentrate on rebuilding essential infrastructure, including roads, utility networks, and public service facilities. Additionally, it recommends recovering 20, 000 acres of land and constructing 200, 000 lasting housing units for 1.6 million people.
- The second stage, which will last until 2030 at an estimated cost of$ 30 billion, aims to finish infrastructure projects, construct additional 200, 000 housing units, establish industrial zones, a fishing port, a commercial seaport, and an airport.

For what it’s worth, despite how difficult it may be, I also favor Trump’s settlement plan.  ,
The big question is,” Who pays?” Egypt’s plan appears to be dependent on$ 53 billion in Other People’s Money, and they haven’t yet identified their targets. According to the AFP report, Cairo may also sponsor a high-level ministerial meeting to take up donor nations, regional and international financial institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations to secure funding.  ,
That is not a minor details.
We’d greater make some changes to Egypt’s strategy if Washington, that’s you and me, Bub, is supposed to pony up only a sizable portion of that sum.
The first is that Israelis may provide safety. The next requirement is that Israelis provide protection. Thirdly, UNRWA should been disbanded and entirely defunded as a wholly-owned company of Hamas.
I’d ask that Qatar’s government been completely excluded as well. Hamas ‘ visitors, among other not-so-niceties, must not be allowed a seat at the post-Hamassa table.  ,
As far as US funding goes, any programs involving the UN and” Israeli security causes” should be regarded as DOA, I suppose. The only appropriate response is to” Not again,” as we saw on October 7, 2023, what” Palestinian protection” methods.
