Elon Musk was depicted in a striking manner at Germany’s yearly festival in Düsseldorf, which is known for its bold and politically charged hovers.
In the German elections, Musk had endorsed the far-right AfD group, which had received criticism for its ties to Nazi ideology. At the Capitol One Arena, Musk was also seen making a hand gesture only days ago, which some on social media compared to a Nazi respect.
The Swastika is what?
The symbol was a traditional religious mark in the past, but it became notorious after Adolf Hitler made a modified version of it into the Nazi Party’s emblem in 1920. The Swastika used in Hindu faith is really the Nazi symbol’s change. The symbol was associated with military brutality, authoritarianism, and murder by the end of World War II.
Is German citizenship for the Swastika?
Displaying Nazi characters in Germany is prohibited and could lead to prison sentences of up to three years. However, there are exceptions for visual purposes. Deutsche Welle, a German media company, points out that enforcement is frequently uneven, with authorities deciding case by case whether a depiction qualifies as lawful.
The Musk fly was criticized by a former US State Department established who claimed that German authorities only use their laws to enforce them. He tweeted that if you attack a politician, the German officers may knock you down and detain you, but you can rally a full-on swastika down the street if you’re attacking Elon.
At the festival, different political figures made fun of themselves.
Musk wasn’t the only objective of the Düsseldorf festival. The Telegraph reported that some world leaders had provocative and occasionally disturbing satire. With the message” Hitler-Stalin Pact 2.0,” one fly depicted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy being crushed between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Alice Weidel, the head of the far-right AfD, was depicted in another sculpture as the witch from Hansel and Gretel, giving a swastika-shaped bread to a young voter representing first-time voters. The AfD’s new electoral success and controversial reputation were both directly addressed in this attack.
Another floats had phrases like” Make China Great Once” tattooed on their body, along with a naked portrayal of Trump, Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Another image of Putin, who is allegedly a prisoner of war crimes in Ukraine, was captured on camera in a striped standard.
Police were heavily armed throughout the festival, which was held under tight protection.
