According to officials, a Spanish air pressure FA-50 fighter jet with two pilots on board went missing on Tuesday during a night combat mission to help ground forces fighting in a southwestern province. A significant search function is currently underway.
Before reaching its intended location, the flight lost contact with another plane around midnight on Monday. There were no instant updates on the missing flight, the air pressure said, citing security concerns, even though the accompanying plane safely returned to an air base in Cebu territory.
A military national confirmed to Associated Press that the vision was a part of a counterinsurgency procedure against communist rebels, in an Associated Press interview. Col. Ma., a spokeswoman for the air pressure Consuelo Castillo urged the general public to pray for the planes ‘ safe return.
In the event of further analysis, the air pressure won’t know whether the remaining FA-50 aircraft may be grounded.
In 2015, the Philippines purchased 12 FA-50 multi-role fighter jets for 18.9 billion rupees ( 331 million dollars ) from Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd., a major investment in the country’s military development strategy.
The aircraft have been used for inspections over the contested South China Sea, national events, and anti-insurgency missions.
