The first focused website to file instances of Hinduphobia on college campuses in the United States, the UK, Canada, and Australia has been created by a student-led grassroots organization called Hindu on Campus ( HOC).
Over 100 instances of anti-Hindu and anti-India discrimination have been reported on the website over the past four decades. It serves as a tool for Hindu businesses and advocacy organizations working to combat discrimination in educational settings.
Hindu on Campus, announcing the release on X, stated,” We have launched the first website to file Hinduphobia on schools. We’ve gathered data from more than 100 anti-Hindu and anti-India instances over the course of four years on [ US, UK, Canada, and Australia ] schools, which Hindu businesses can use as a reference.
HOC, which was established in March 2021, aims to promote the voices of Gen Z Hindus, combat Hinduphobia, and ensure good treatment for Hindu individuals. The organization engages in grassroots engagement, social media, and data-driven campaigning.
The initiative was welcomed by the Coalition of Hindus of North America ( CHNA ), who added,” Wonderful to see this @hinduoncampus documentation of anti-Hindu incidents on college campuses. We anticipate utilizing this knowledge in our discussions with significant participants.
Following growing worries about anti-Hindu attitude, the website was launched. A report from Rutgers University 2022 revealed a substantial rise in online hate speech directed at the Hindu community.
