When does it not constitute a controversial statement?
It occurs when more than three out of four persons concur with it.
Of course, that’s not what the popular press was looking for. Trump’s large night furthers America’s terrible internal schisms, according to CNN’s analysis. The Washington Post yelled,” Defiant Trump signals full speed ahead with divisive guidelines.” ” Troller in Chief: How Trump Used His Speech to Demean Democrats” was a piece of paper that Time Magazine sniffed. And as of this day, the title on MSNBC.com just states,” Trump delivers contentious address to the nation.”

Divisive. … Insulting. troll.  ,
That’s the roll of the mainstream media. And not to appear like a Scooby Doo criminal, they could have managed it themselves, too, thanks to a one unflinching, unwarranted fact: The American people no longer talk to them.
The confidence has been undermined.
And nowhere more clearly illustrates this delete than in the CBS News post-speech polling that reads,” Poll on Trump’s 2025 combined address to Congress finds large majority of viewers approve.” Adapted from the content
The senator was referred to as “presidential,” inspiring, and more “unifying” than “divisive” by most speechgoers. The majority of people also described it as interesting.
Most people believed that Mr. Trump frequently addressed issues of concern to them.
The majority of viewers who tuned in to the statement described the speech as “upbeat” and “proud.”
Some shocking statistics are available: 76 % of respondents were against Trump’s speech. Only 23 % of voters disapproved. I can only assume that the 1 % of the remaining participants were drinking photos of Jäger every time the Democrats interrupted the conversation and left in 15 minutes.
A majority ( 63 % ) claimed that Trump spent time on issues that matter to them. Only 16 % and 27 % of minorities claimed that the speech caused them to feel angry or worried. ” Much larger numbers — 54 % and 68 % ) said they felt” proud” and “upbeat.”
Over 70 % of viewers said Trump’s speech was” presidential” (74 % )”, entertaining” (74 % ), and” inspiring” (71 % ). A small minority called it “unifying” ( 62 % ), but it was still a large majority.

Only 46 % of respondents thought it was “divisive.”
Trump’s MAGA agenda was also significant (” Yuuge” ), right? Trump’s plan to eliminate government waste ( DOGE-nabbit ) received 77 % of the vote. As many people as 77 percent supported his border and immigration laws. And despite the heightened tension between Trump and Zelenskyy in the White House, 73 % of the audience voted in favor of Trump’s plan to end the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
His taxes policy saw a slight decline in the numbers: 65 % approved. Still, it’s pretty good, by any objective standards, to have 65 % of the audience engaged in a contentious issue.
In the CBS poll, a peculiar rating emerged: Trump also has room to advance in the fight against crime. Forget about the minuscule minority ( 22 % ) of voters who said crime wasn’t as bad as Trump described, and forget about the 68 % who said Trump accurately described crime: One in ten ( 10 % ) said crime was even worse! The Democrats will be severely underwater and extremely vulnerable during the midterms if Trump can get that 10 % without sacrificing his 68 %.
In exams, issues like violence carry an enormous punch.
By the way, do you recall the Democrats ‘ unending, childish behavior? Trump addressed the nation with pickleball rackets and severe, life-and-death issues, and the Democrats were present. They yelled, hissed, and gnashed their smile. And who could forget Reverend Rep. Al Green getting thrown out on his [tush ] when he seems to be taking Trump’s Greenland acquisition WAY too seriously?

Yes, 76 % of people voted in favor of his expulsion from the chambers. ( Way to read the room, men! )
One caveat: In yesterday’s modern media era, Republicans are more likely to see Republican presidents deliver speeches, while Democrats are more likely to view Democrat presidents. This does sway the figures, but not in a significant way.
Only a small proportion ( 51 % ) of those who watched Trump’s speech declared themselves to be Republicans. But 76 % approved!
That was one terrible speech, mathematics doesn’t tell it.
