Democratic Representatives Ro Khanna (D-CA ) and Laura Gillen (D-NY ) have voiced disappointment over their party’s response during former President Donald Trump‘s joint address to Congress on Tuesday. While Trump honoured 13-year-old cancer warrior DJ Daniel and named him a part of the Secret Service to realize his dream of becoming a law enforcement officer, most Liberals remained seated as Republicans stood and applauded.
Khanna, in a blog on X, recounted an experience with a trip operator who criticised the Democrats ‘ effect. ” Jim Barrett, a flight attendant, graciously chased me down at Chicago Airport.’ Sir, I am a Democrat but the way the group behaved was embarrassing. Made us look ruthless. I don’t care who is up it, you stand for the child with cancer. Be more pragmatic &, getting your act jointly,'” Khanna wrote. He added that he assured the assistant that” a few of us did walk and cry, and we must get the group that also believes in compassion, decency, and trying to bring people up”.
Gillen also expressed her sorrow in an appointment with News12 Long Island. ” Quite honestly, there were times where I feel like indignation at some of the activities that have happened over the past month-and-a-half prevented some of my coworkers from being able to stand up to help the little DJ Daniel”, she said. ” I stood up and applauded this little child, who is getting over cancers, wants to be a policeman official— and I was disappointed that I was never joined by any of my acquaintances”.

DJ, a Houston native facing brain tumor, has been sworn into over 900 police departments globally, according to Breitbart News. While every Republican in the room stood and cheered for him, it remains unclear if any other Democrats joined Khanna and Gillen in showing help.
