Passengers aboard a Southwest flight from Houston to Phoenix were in for an unforeseen present when a person stripped naked mid-taxi, screamed at the top of her breathing, and tried to storm the aircraft in a ridiculous preflight panic.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as “completely unexpected.” The woman, first fully clothed, instantly walked to the front of the aircraft and demanded to be let off. When the crew continued taxiing, she lost control—jumping, screaming, and then stripping down to nothing.
” She just started taking all off—her hat, her boots, everything”, one startled customer told 12 News.
As the house descended into chaos, the skinny brochure paced up and down the hallway, ignoring frightened passengers, including young children. Things escalated farther when she began banging on the aircraft door, demanding admittance, and rubbed her bare body against a trip operator.
With the condition spiraling, the captain turned the aircraft back to the gate, where flight staff attempted to act. A contractor tried to cover the person with a cover, but she broke completely and bolted out of the plane.
Houston police eventually detained her and transported her to a doctor for a medical examination. No claims have been filed.
Southwest Airlines issued a statement apologizing for the one-hour pause, thanking people for their persistence. But, for those onboard, it was a journey they won’t forget anytime soon.
