Recently criticized’ destruction’ of free conversation– but he tore down advertisements
A Harvard University teacher is” no more affiliated” with the institution after video circulated of him tearing down posters of babies taken prisoner, and killed, by Hamas.
Jonathan Tuttle previously worked as a” cataloguer of published components” according to The Crimson– but unfortunately, he is no longer at Harvard after destroying elements.
The Radcliffe Institute teacher “was filmed tearing down a banner showing the faces of Jewish victims during a Harvard Out of Occupied Palestine protest on March 3”, according to the student paper.
The posters were of the” Bibas boys”, two young boys, who were killed by Hamas. As part of a new peace deal, the body were returned to the home for burial. The boys were 9 months old and four years old when Hamas kidnapped them immediately after the October 7, 2023 criminal strike, according to the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem.
Daily Wire writer Kassy Akiva initially drew attention to the loss in a video she shared from a pro-Israel team with the bill name” cambvoices4Israel”. Harvard Chabad even posted videos of the loss.
The death drew condemnation from university management, including Sherri Charleston, Harvard’s best DEI official.
Monday, a Harvard individual was caught on camera ripping down advertisements of the Bibas brothers on school.
That individual was wearing an ID badge with the brand Jonathan Tuttle.

Radcliffe Institute Dean Tomiko Brown-Nagin even criticized Tuttle, according to the student newspaper.
” I firmly support the right of all Americans and all members of our community to rally in support of opportunities that we hold dear”, Brown-Nagin wrote.
” But disruptive behaviors—including property damage or graffiti and acts of vandalism that seek to control or delete the talk of others—are not protected speech”, she said further, according to The Crimson. ” They are behaviors that constitute misconduct, they violate multiple Harvard and Radcliffe regulations and may also be punished under criminal law”.
Tuttle recently expressed supported for 30 pro-Palestinian protesters who held a motionless” study-in” at the Widener Library in Sep. 2024 to rally the killing of feared Hezbollah people who died when their manipulated backlinking exploded. Protesters received a two year ban from the collection.
But Tuttle, along with other library Maya Bergamasco, said the protesters were badly punished for protesting “genocide”.
They wrote in a Nov. 7 mind part:
We fail to see how studying softly amounts to a disturbance, and we reject the restrictions issued in reply. We write to let study-in members know that there are libraries employees who stand in solidarity with them. We are not alone: Many of our acquaintances support these sit-ins but did not join us in authoring this part out of fear of repercussion.
The Harvard collection system runs on the work of collection workers like us, many of whom believe a murder is taking place in Gaza, contact on Harvard to withdraw from that genocide, and praise the study-ins. The decision to bar patrons from the collection was made by main library leadership, who finally compelled local libraries leaders, security workers, and collection staff to follow their mandate, often against their own spiritual compasses.
Tuttle, who was caught on video tearing down posters, criticized the” suppression” of voices.
” Libraries are not neutral — no institution or body of people can ever truly be”, he wrote. ” In fact, claiming neutrality creates a chilling effect and facilitates the suppression of dissenting voices by mainstream ones”.
