‘ All of us make errors and it’s important to acknowledge it’
A law professor at UCLA said the United States ‘ “only trust” is for its military to conduct a revolt d ‘état against the Trump administration in order to stop it from becoming a Russian alliance.
Peter Arenella tweeted on X over the weekend “at this place, my only hope for the US to avoid becoming an ally to Russia is a violent opposition by our defense. Tragic to claim that because the military are trained to prevent any politically inspired action”.
Arenella followed up by claiming Trump helped prevent such an incident by “firing all the Joint Chief of Staff military rulers and replacing them with ]his personal ] military sycophants”.
He added that the land will “get what we deserve by giving Trump a second chance to destroy our democracy”.
After his notes triggered a swift backlash, including a writer who tagged fresh FBI Director Kash Patel, Arenella evidently realized how his original message was worded, and therefore offered an explanation and apologies:
NOTE TO FEDERAL GOVT. Firms 1] I do not recommend a aggressive military intervention to destroy our Govt. Such behavior may only cause a civil battle that may cause more harm to our democracy. 2] I am a Quaker who believes assault is not a socially acceptable answer unless done in home security.
I did make a mistake in a blog where I was speculating about the origin of any aggressive response to our state abandoning its claim to support Ukraine. In that initial post, I falsely framed the problem by using the words “my just hope”.
Earlier now Arenella tweeted , he was” suspending” articles on X for “at least a month” according to his “terminal foolishness and lethargy in no editing” the coup-related article.

” I deserve censure for that article written in fury and frustration”, Arenella wrote. ” Obviously, I should never post anything in frustration that does not reveal my called wisdom. Obviously, my co blame did not diminish the fury even though I sincerely regretted making a mistake.
” All I can say in response is that all of us make mistakes and its ]sic ] important to admit it so we don’t repeat it.”
Arenella offered related qualified notes following the initial death test on Trump in July. He tweeted that democracy” was now hanging by a thread,” and presently the” classic image of Trump raising his fist in defiance with our flag waving behind him may lead to his election and the loss of our democracy.”
He added” without any factual basis” that his” first instinct “upon hearing of the shooting was that Trump staged the whole thing.
