Liberals aren’t going to be happy about this. According to Steve Witkoff, Trump’s specific minister, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a written explanation to President Donald Trump.

” Zelensky sent a letter to the president. He apologized for that whole incident that happened in the Oval Office. I think that it was an essential step, and there’s been a lot of debate between our team and the Ukrainians and the Europeans who are relevant to this discussion as well”, Witkoff told Fox News. ” And I would like to describe it as development. And so I do hope there’s a deal”.

In a tense Oval Office meeting next month, Trump and Vice President JD Vance clashed with Zelensky, expressing anger over his perceived callousness for U. S. efforts to end the war in Ukraine. Zelensky was visiting to explain a possible deal for U. S. entry to Ukraine’s nutrient sources.  ,
Vance criticized Zelensky for Ukraine’s defense battles, while Trump condemned his authority and warned of the dangers of escalating the conflict. Zelensky’s messages only heightened conflicts, with Trump accusing him of gambling with World War III. The conference ended with Trump kicking Zelensky out of the White House.

After the conference, Trump took to social media and condemned Zelensky for having “disrespected the United States of America in its respected Oval Office”. Trump was right to call him out, and now the ball is firmly in Zelensky’s judge. Following the change, Zelensky embarked on a small European trip, where he received assistance from several European leaders, including pledges of military and financial assistance.
Nevertheless, within just a few days, Zelensky significantly shifted his voice from defiant grandstanding to openly groveling before President Trump. After decades of demanding U. S. help without offering agreements, the Russian president was now scrambling to align himself with Trump’s goal of ending the conflict.

U. S. and Ukrainian officials are set to meet in Saudi Arabia this week to get back up on peace agreements to end the war with Russia.
Witkoff said he thought Zelensky sending Trump a letter to regret for the flaming gathering was “progress”.
In Trump’s combined address to Congress, he shared that he received a notice from Zelensky in an effort for the states to even out relationships. Trump said he appreciated the text, which came just weeks after the U. S. halted military aid to Ukraine.
Soon after the blazing conference between Zelensky and Trump, the Russian president called it a “regrettable” getting but stopped quick of issuing an explanation.
Zelensky, but, signaled that Ukraine was also ready to come to the negotiating table after the conference, where the U. S. and Ukraine had been slated to come to an agreement on a materials offer.

Witkoff said that it’s essential for the authorities to discuss safety practices for Ukrainians, territorial issues, and a value plan.
” These are not complicated things, they just … need to be put on the table, and everybody needs to be transparent about what their expectations are, then we can begin to have a discussion about how we compromise”, he said.
