The time administration is set to create a special rules by next week aimed at accelerating work to restore billions of dollars reportedly siphoned off from Bangladesh to foreign countries. In the presence of aparliament period, the law may be enacted through an law, said deputy director Yunus Muhammad’s press secretary Shafiqul Alam.
Referring to govt’s white papers on the state of the economy, Alam said about$ 234 billion was siphoned off during the Hasina leadership from 2009 to 2024. Additionally, an estimated$ 17 billion was stolen from the banking system. He added, state is now investigating 11 important individuals and companies, including past PM Hasina and her family members.
A meeting was held with the 11-member work force, which was established in Sept next month. According to Alam, the work force has previously engaged with around 200 law companies and perhaps provide partnerships with about 30 internationally known companies to speed the healing process.
Yunus’s special aide ‘ asked to ‘ withdraw
Muhammad Yunus ‘ special aide M Aminul Islam resigned from his position on Monday, apparently after being “asked to do so” by the general attorney’s office. Aminul was tasked with assisting the training director. However, the state appointed Anisuzzaman Chowdhury as a special aide to the main assistant, who will handle issues tied to the financing ministry, and his status will be that of a state minister.
