Sarah Wynn Williams has hit the headlines after her book ‘ Careless Individuals: A Warning Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism ‘ exposed the people in power of Meta, next Facebook. Williams to was a chairman of the company where she worked for six years before quitting in 2017.
Williams accused past Facebook COO Sheryl Sanberg of approaching her female aide poorly during a vacation. Williams wrote that during a trip to Europe, Sandberg spent$ 13, 000 on clothing for herself and her younger female aide whom she invited to the pillow on a private plane journey. Williams said she was even offered to join Sandberg in the only sleep that the plane had and Sandberg was rankled when her present was rejected.
Williams said under Zuckerberg and Sandberg, Facebook’s lifestyle turned rotten with startling accounts of sexism and twice standards as the two major executives turned a blind eye to what was happening in the business.
Williams alleged that Zuckerberg worked’ hand in glove ‘ with Beijing and considered sharing customer information with China.
Who is Sarah Wynn-Williams?
A previous New Zealand minister, Sarah Wynn-Williams was a Twitter director who accused her director Joel Kaplan of sexually harassing her. Kaplan was then the vice president of Instagram for international public policy. Williams was fired from her article as chairman in 2017 following her grievance against her manager, which she believes was retaliation for making the problem. Meta, but, maintained that Willians was fired for “poor performance” and” dangerous behaviour” and the analysis against Kaplan was found “misleading”.
Williams has also filed a whistleblower complaint with the US markets regulator, the Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC ), alleging Meta misled investors.
What did Meta state about the new claims?
Meta said the allegations in Williams ‘ ebooks are a mix of “out-of-date and recently reported says” about the business. The organization said since Williams was fired in 2017, she has been paid by anti-Facebook activists to remain complaining against Facebook.
On the China claims, Meta said it was no secret that Twitter was again engaged in operating services in China but eventually opted not to do it.
