The Royal Mint announced on Friday that John Lennon will be honored in a particularly created European penny collection to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the legendary Beatles and peace activist.
A photograph of Lennon is featured on the coin, which will be available on Monday, and is based on a well-known photo taken by music industry artist Bob Gruen in 1974. Lennon’s part report was taken on the roof of his mansion in New York. At the age of 40, Mark David Chapman shot Lennon killed in the area on December 8, 1980.
Lennon’s name appears to the left of the painting, while the word” Picture” appears on the straight edge in reference to his 1971 record and one.
The Royal Mint has a “music legends” line that honors musicians and artists and has struck the currencies of princes from Alfred the Great to King Charles III. In receiving a plaque on a Royal Mint gold, Jennifer resembles McCartney, David Bowie, Queen, the Rolling Stones, Shirley Bassey, and others. Prices will start at$ 24 for a five-pound based gold up to$ 8 and$ 330 for a 200-pound based gold.
