People who are older than 40 have a history of complaining about musculoskeletal problems that come with getting older. I won’t lie: it’s strange to have two or three aches only from sleeping. However, what I love about my lack of springtime chickenness is the perception that decades of experience can provide, which is particularly important when dealing with politicians.  ,

I’m going anywhere with this, trust me.  ,
Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz. ) passed away on Thursday after receiving a belated diagnosis last year ( my Townhall colleague Rebecca Downs covered that here ). He was a dramatic communist in my congress. But, I’m not here to exhaust. Grijalva even taught me one of the most important lessons I’ve learned in more than forty years of political engagement, and that’s because of it. ( Side note: If I ever write about him again, it will absolutely go off on his politics. )  ,
When I first learned about Ral Grijalva in high school in the late 1970s ( I am aware that I look great for my time ). Before I relocated again to Tucson to attend high school, he had been elected president of the Tucson Unified School District panel. Even then, he had a gift for appearing in front of the news cameras, and this was when perhaps teenagers regularly watched the local media, so I was aware of who he was even though I was a Catholic high school student.  ,
When I first started experimenting with social engagement, Grijalva was still on the TUSD board when I first started to feel that way. He served until his election as the United States House of Representatives in 2002 when he was elected to the Pima County Board of Supervisors in 1989. I had previously resided in Los Angeles for a while at the time, so it was obvious that I hadn’t been giving Tucson politicians much thought. It seemed like a spirit from the history was haunting me when I learned that he had been elected to Congress.  ,

The way that the Democrat Party used school board came to be known at that time. While it’s true that some Democrats have served on local school board, the Democrats use them like their farm system, particularly in violet states and cities. Of course, the Dems ‘ involvement in school board comes in large part from the support of the public school leftist education mills, but there are also bonuses for those with political career ambitions.  ,
Elections for school boards teach aspiring politicians how to raise cash, run a promotion, and deliver stump speeches. This is done much away from the national, or even condition, light, even if the school board is in a big city. The GOP has been known to take social novices and throw them into the fire over the years. President Trump and Vice President Vance are the two most notable instances of that. Every so often, they hit a home work or two.  ,
More frequently than no, you end up with individuals who trip themselves up with forced problems because the campaign trail has a lot of potential for that.  ,
If a Democrat is more equipped for the next stage with one or two school board elections under their belt.  ,
I was speaking in Virginia for Americans for Prosperity during the summertime of 2012. Our guests gave us a journey of the workplace where their activity was set up after one afternoon conversation. We got outside, but I hadn’t talked to them much. Fresh, enthusiastic volunteers were filling the air. I asked them precisely what they were working on as we were being introduced. One of the young people said,” We’re trying to get Republican elected to town councils and school board.” I said, “You’re doing the’ God’s work’ of politicians,” and I shook everyone’s hands.  ,

However, Democratic organizations at the time were doing so much of that job.  ,
Return to the Grijalva home and the farmland land system used by the Democrats. Adelita Grijalva’s girl, Raul Grijalva, was the leader of the Tucson Unified School District Board when I relocated again to Tucson after spending more than 20 years in Los Angeles. No longer afterward, she was elected to the Pima County Board of Supervisors. She served on both boards simultaneously for about four years, serving as the poster child for a widespread abuse of power in my hometown.
Adelita Grijalva is the name that has been most popular since Thursday, when the local media and politicians have been weighing up replacement candidates for her dad, if you have been paying close attention to this paragraph.  ,
The bad news is that, if not now, she’ll probably end up in Congress. The good news is that during the pandemic, the GOP suddenly began to notice the importance of school boards. That served as a catalyst for removing despotic progressives from power and introducing some sanity to local programs. That’s a wonderful place to begin, to be certain.  ,
Hoping that the GOP will finally understand the Dems ‘ “farm program” strategy. The new Trump edition of the Grand Old Party is more focused on fighting and winning than the previous 21st century versions, as I have written on numerous occasions. There is therefore a greater likelihood that it will extract useful tips from the playbook of the once-formidable Democrat political system.  ,
