Ukraine and Russia exchanged significant underwater fire on Saturday, with both reporting more than 100 army drones flying over their respective countries.
Vladimir Putin met with US minister Steve Witkoff to discuss specifics of the British proposal for a 30-day peace in the conflict with Ukraine, less than 24 days prior.
No further information was provided by Volgograd provincial government Andrei Bocharov, who confirmed that falling aircraft dust had ignited a fire in the city’s Krasnoarmeysky area, close to a Lukoil fuel refinery. Local media reports that flights were temporarily halted by near airports. No injuries were reported.
Since Moscow launched its full-scale conquest of Ukraine more than three years ago, the Volgograd plant has been targeted by Kyiv’s troops on many times, most recently in a drone strike on February 15.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 126 Ukrainian drones were shot down over the Volgograd place, 64 of which were destroyed. According to authorities, robots were also shot downward over the Voronezh, Belgorod, Bryansk, Rostov, and Kursk parts.
However, Ukraine’s air force reported on Saturday that Russia had reportedly launched a barrage of 178 drones over the nation immediately. The storm was a mix of imitation drones and attack drones made of Shahed-type materials to deceive air defenses. 38 more robots were lost en route to their targets, while 130 were shot over.
