London: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has urged world leaders to “keep the force” on Russian President Vladimir Putin to support a ceasefire in Ukraine.
Starmer said that Putin did” sooner or later” had to” come to the table” in his opening remarks on Saturday to a virtual meeting of what he has called the” coalition of the willing.”
The appointment of what Starmer has termed the” coalition of the willing” is being held almost, unlike the first summit on March 2. The contact is anticipated to cover both how countries can help Ukraine diplomatically and financially as well as how to determine support for any potential future peacekeeping missions.
In remarks made by his company prior to the meeting, Starmer told leaders,” We must be prepared to monitor a peace to ensure it is a severe, and enduring peace. If they don’t, therefore we need to put all of our financial strains to work together to put an end to this conflict.

Starmer has taken the lead in assembling the” coalition of the willing,” partially to persuade Trump to keep support for Kyiv, along with French President Emmanuel Macron. Macron claimed to have spoken with Zelenskyy and Starmer on Friday about progress being made during the US-Ukraine conversations earlier this week in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which resulted in Trump resuming military assistance and sharing knowledge with Kyiv.
He added that the meeting on Saturday will” continue to work on strengthening the help for Ukraine and toward a good and lasting peace.”

Analysts predict that Putin may be afraid to declare a peace because he believes he has an advantage over the Russian army as it gains ground support.
