Donald Trump, the president of the United States, downplayed his numerous claims that the Russia-Ukraine conflict must be resolved in less than 24 hours and said he was “being snarky” when he said that.
54 days into his time in the Oval Office, Trump, in an interview with” Full Measure,” said,” Well, I was being a little sarcastic when I said that,” adding that Trump was trying to make a deal with Ukraine and Russia.
He continued,” I think I think I’ll succeed in getting it settled, and I think I’ll be successful.”
Trump had previously stated that” They’re dying, Russians and Ukrainians,” in the run-up to the White House. I want them to cease passing away. And I’ll finish that in 24 hrs.
That is a battle that is dying to get ended. Trump had a” I will get it resolved before I even become senator,” according to Trump during a discussion with Kamala Harris in September.
” If I win, when I’m president-elect, and what I’ll do is I’ll talk to one, I’ll talk to the other.” I’ll arrange them,” he had said.
In the meantime, Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed the United States ‘ request for a ceasefire, but added that some problems still needed to be addressed.
In a press conference, Putin stated,” We support the proposal for a ceasefire ( with Ukraine ) to end hostilities, but we stay away from the fact that this ceasefire should lead to an enduring peace and should end this crisis’s root causes,”
Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris before blasted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, claiming that he lacked thanks for US defense support. Since joining Russia in voting for president of the UN, the US has since dissented from its allies because it hasn’t directly supported Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
Trump has even experienced criticism for making numerous phone calls to Putin, which could lead to a potential reversal of US-Russian connections and a reduction in the amount of punishment being put in place under President Joe Biden.
