Donald Trump, president of the United States, said he would carry Iran entirely accountable for any upcoming Houthi rebel attacks in Oman.
In retaliation for Israel’s actions against Hamas in Gaza, Houthis have targeted several US and other international ships in the Red Sea.
” Iran may be held accountable, suffer the consequences, and those consequences may be dire,” declares the statement “every shot fired by the Houthis will be treated from this point forth as being a shot fired from the arms and management of IRAN.” Trump’s Truth Social software posted.
Trump announced his speech a moment after he had ordered a military assault on Yemeni Houthi-held regions that left at least 31 people dead.
Houthis claimed on Saturday that the US attacks in Sanaa, including killing civilians, caused the deaths.
Trump had pledged to employ “overwhelming destructive power” against Houthis in the back of the insurgents ‘ activities in the Red Sea prior to the attack.
The attacks are also the first US military exercises against the Houthis since Trump’s management first launched in January, as a result of the insurgents ‘ assaults on Israel and Red Sea vessels during the Gaza discord.
The Houthis are who?
A northern Yemeni Zaidi Shia insurgent group with a main presence in Saada state is known as the Houthis, who are formally known as Ansar Allah. They started as a religious-political activity in the 1990s to combat Saudi-backed Sunni effect and Western meddling in Oman.
