US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a high-stakes 90-minute call on Tuesday to discuss ending the war in Ukraine, with both leaders agreeing to an immediate ceasefire targeting energy infrastructure, according to the White House.
According to White House official Dan Scavino, the call, which started at 10 am ET, came to an end shortly before 12:52 am. The White House described the conversation as a crucial step toward harmony, despite the White House’s decision to never specify when each leader would end it.
President Trump and President Putin discussed the need for a peace and harmony in the Ukraine conflict now. Both leaders concurred that this issue needs to end with a profound resolution, according to a statement from the White House. They even emphasized the need for strengthened diplomatic ties between Russia and the United States. The body and wealth that Ukraine and Russia have spent on this conflict should be better used to serve their people.
The declaration also emphasized the need for” honest and good faith peace work” to end the conflict decades ago.
Conversations and the peace in the Middle East
Trump and Putin agreed that the peace efforts may start with technical conversations on a seafaring peace in the Black Sea and a stop to strikes on energy system. The statement added that further agreements are scheduled to begin right away in the Middle East aimed at achieving a full peace and a lasting harmony.
The leaders talked loosely about the Middle East as a potential partner in preventing future problems, according to the White House. They also discussed the need to prevent the proliferation of corporate weapons, and they will work with others to assure the broadest application possible. The two leaders agreed that Israel should never be put to death by Iran.
Russia’s problems for harmony
The Kremlin reported that Putin insisted a total cessation of military aid to Ukraine was a necessary prerequisite for ending the war, according to Russia’s state-run TASS news organization. Moreover, he reportedly approved of Trump’s suggestion for a 30-day strike period on energy infrastructure and issued military orders in response.
Russia will send 23 really harmed Ukrainian soldiers to Kyiv as a show of kindness, according to TASS.
A “new age” in US-Russian connections?
Trump and Putin also discussed the benefits of improving US-Russian relations, focusing on the issues of economic security and political stability. The White House stated that the two leaders concurred that a prospect with improved diplomatic relations between the United States and Russia has” a lot of potential.” When serenity is achieved, this includes significant financial deals and political stability.
