    Musk’s Starlink expands White House footprint, sets sights on more agencies

    Elon Musk is a key figure in the Trump administration as a consultant and de facto head of the Department of Government Performance, but the banker’s Starlink technique is also having a significant impact on the federal government.

    According to The New York Times, Starlink has been installed in the White House to increase online access throughout the complex. Since the government has been considering using Starlink across a variety of agencies, this setup is the most recent instance of its adoption.

    Starlink is a dish internet service that has been often used in places like conflict zones and remote locations where internet access can be challenging. In recent months, T-Mobile and United Airlines have made agreements with Starlink to enhance their computer and communications services. Ukraine has also used Starlink in its conflict with Russia.

    Due to Trump’s January return to business, the Department of Defense had agreements with SpaceX for the Starlink support. Starlink’s online services contract was signed by the Space Force in 2023.

    Following a number of aircraft instances this year, the Federal Aviation Administration began testing Starlink stations for services in New Jersey and Alaska.

    According to a statement from NBC News earlier this month, the General Services Administration and several other organizations were likewise considering setting up Starlink.

    Democrats have been critical of Musk’s expanding administrative unit following concerns about conflicts of interest and problem, given the exclusive firms he controls, including Tesla and SpaceX.
