As efforts to boost cooperation with the federal immigration authorities take shape across the country, states led by Republicans are attempting to do so. &nbsp,

On Monday, Governor. All 1,100 sworn officers at the Georgia Department of Public Safety were required to undergo immigration and customs enforcement training as part of the federal 287 ( g ) program, according to Republican Representative Brian Kemp (R-GA ).

In a press release announcing the partnership between ICE and DPS, Kemp said,” If you are in our country illegally and committing acts, you have no place in Georgia.” ” This is yet another reasonable estimate in addition to the ones we’ve taken since I first took company to make it even more obvious to hardworking law enforcement to help identify and apprehend illegal aliens who pose a threat to public health.” I’m also grateful that we now have a spouse and leadership in the White House who recognizes the seriousness of this problem and places a high value on protecting American by securing the border and halting illegal immigration there.

A expenses requiring officers to work with ICE on attempts to target illegal immigrants was debating the same day. The Deputies ‘ Association of Texas, one of the oldest law enforcement organizations in the nation representing 254 Lone Star regions, supports SB 8. Gov. supports the bill, which would give smaller districts money to work with ICE on immigration protection efforts. Democratic Lt. Governor of Texas Greg Abbott Dan Patrick, as reported by the Texas Tribune. &nbsp,

In recent days, a number of GOP-led states have signed up for “task power” agreements with ICE, expanding interrogation of suspected illegal refugees about their immigration standing during routine police stops, according to an examination by the South Carolina Daily Gazette, which was published last week. &nbsp,

Since President Donald Trump took office, 32, 000 illegal refugees have been detained, according to ICE’s earlier figures earlier this month, including 14, 111 criminals who have been convicted and 9, 980 who have pending legal fees.

Although current, the resistance from traditionally Democratic hideouts in a few of those claims against increased anti-illegal immigration measures was weak. &nbsp,

The city’s police chief in Austin informed the Austin American-Statesman that national authorities had informed her that the raid was aimed at “wanted violent offenders.”

These are folks APD may be looking for as well, at the end of the day. They were wanted for crimes committed violently, according to Police Chief Lisa Davis. &nbsp,

Protesters in Atlanta have staged demonstrations in protest of the Trump administration’s plan to remove illegal immigrants from the state. &nbsp,

However, some metro Atlanta police agencies made it a point to issue preventative remarks at the end of January after a police officer posted a video saying local law enforcement wasn’t contacting ICE to report illegal immigrants, according to Atlanta News First.

Since Trump took office, ICE ARRESTS TOP 32, 000 illegal immigrants.

In a statement referring to the “misleading” video, the Lilburn Police Department said,” We will detain an individual with an active warrant or an immigration detainer and notify Immigration Customs and Enforcement. ” We have been following our heart for years, and we are still doing it.”

And the Republican-led Peach State Senate is pushing a bill that would grant local governments who violate Georgia’s sanctuary city ban and refuse to cooperate with ICE legal protections, such as sovereign immunity. &nbsp,
