The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA ) plans to “phase out” the distribution of chemical castration medications to trans-identification veterans, the organization announced on Monday.
” All ready Veterans, including trans-identified Veterans, will always be welcomed at VA and will always be given the benefits and services they have been entitled to receive under the law. However, VA Secretary Doug Collins stated in a speech that Veterans who want to try changing their sex can do so on their own dime.
Veterans of the past who have a recent diagnosis, history of, or show symptoms consistent with gender dysphoria will no longer receive so-called” cross-sex hormone therapy,” according to a press release from the VA. The order applies to qualified members who “are currently receiving such attention from VA” or “were receiving such attention from the military as part of and upon their parting from military service and are available for VA health care.”
Veterans who do not meet these requirements are not available for cross-sex estrogen therapy through VA health care, and the organization” will not provide any other medical or surgical treatment for gender dysphoria in any circumstances.” Any and all profits made by the VA will be “redirected” toward” greatly injured VA beneficiaries,” the statement reads.
The ministry claimed that “VA has certainly kept consistent and reliable information regarding the total number of Veterans who endured these techniques, the total amount of money spent on them, or the total number of employees involved.” Less than one eighth of a percentage of the 9.1 million soldiers enrolled in VA health care are trans-identified, according to estimates from the Veterans Health Administration.
A Monday report from The Daily Wire reveals how, under the Biden administration, the firm “apparently skirted existing recommendations prohibiting so-called “gender modifications” in order to “provide techniques designed to help people present as the same sex.” VA claims that it has “never offered sex-change therapies. According to the reports obtained by the outlet, the Biden-led agency “provided prosthetic penises… as well as prosthetics designed to look like breasts, chest binders, wigs, and dilators for fake vaginas.”
According to the VA, Veterans Health Administration Directive 1341( 4 ), which has since been repealed, authorized the VA’s issuance of such services and devices.
The announcement made on Monday is part of VA’s compliance with a Jan. 20 executive order that President Donald Trump issued. It is stated clearly in that directive that “it is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female. These sexes are grounded in a fundamental and unquestionable reality and are not changeable.
