A Minnesota school student’s attorneys confirmed that his ex-girlfriend Sudiksha Konanki, who was with University of Pittsburgh scholar Sudiksha Konanki the day she vanished in the Dominican Republic, is seeking a new card.
Joshua Riibe, 22, has been unable to leave the country since Konanki vanished on March 6 while taking a spring bust. While a Dominican judge ruled on Tuesday that Riibe is free to travel within the state, he has not received his card, making it uncertain whether he will return.
The Dominican Republic’s US Embassy in connection with Mr. Riibe, his home, and his attorney, according to the US Embassy in the country’s statement to ABC News. Riibe’s lawful team is attempting to obtain a new card from the embassy in order to help his return home.

Riibe expressed disappointment over his situation in court on Tuesday.

According to sources, Konanki’s household officially requested Dominican authorities to officially announce her passing on Monday. Authorities have drastically reduced search-and-rescue businesses in the interim.
On March 28, a judge will make a final decision regarding whether Riibe may experience costs. In the meantime, he is still in constitutional purgatory and is awaiting a ruling that might affect his ability to return to the US.
