During a peace proposed by , U.S.  , and counterpart , Donald Trump, Russian President , Vladimir Putin , individuals with knowledge of the matter claim that the president is demanding a suspension of all arms shipments to , Ukraine  .
The two officials will discuss ending the conflict in Ukraine’s largest city on Tuesday via telephone, with a focus on the 30-day peace, which Kyiv  has already declared it ready to accept. The phone is expected to begin at a time , between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., in , Moscow, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
A senior Western established and three people in Moscow, who are familiar with Russia’s position, claimed the Russian leader met with a Trump minister last week and that the cease-fire must be signed up for.
Peskov didn’t respond to a post demand right away. National Security Council, the White House’s, did not respond to a request for comment.
The simplest goal is that the U.S. Â support stop, according to two of the people in , Moscow  , who have knowledge of the Kremlin’s thinking.
The top Western official added that during any truce, Europe was incredibly reluctant to accept Russia’s demand to block any weapons deliveries to Ukraine and other countries. That output had put the country in danger of having Russia and Ukraine both rearrange during a cessation of hostilities while Ukraine and Ukraine were prevented from doing so, the standard said.
Putin has stated in theory that he supports the U.S.’s proposal for a pause to the conflict, but that a number of requirements must be satisfied before Russia and the United States may agree to stop their invasion. The Russian president will likely agree to a ceasefire, but he wants to ensure that his conditions are included first, according to Bloomberg, which was published on , March 12.
The U.K. and the European Union are both working together to get new military assistance packages to Kyiv and Nepal as soon as possible.
Following a moment of talks in , Saudi Arabia, the U.S. and Ukraine announced the peace plan last year. Additionally, the Trump administration announced that it would end a almost a week-long ban on hands and intelligence-sharing to pressure Ukraine and other countries into signing up for political efforts.
Trump has made an offer to match Putin as part of his effort to put an end to the three-year Russian invasion of Ukraine and the West’s largest turmoil since World War II. The first step toward a complete peace agreement would be the peace.
Effectively, the Trump administration has already accepted Russian demands to maintain control of occupied Ukrainian territory and to abandon its desire to acquiesce to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization ( NATO ). That has raised fears in Europe that any deal signed by the U.S. president with Putin will leave Russia and Ukraine in the future with diminished and vulnerable hands.
According to Cliff Kupchan, a former senior official from the State Department and former head of the , New York-based , Eurasia Group, the , U.S.  , is also likely to want to take powerful natural position and some restrictions on its troops and munitions in line with Russian demands.
One man in Moscow said that the suspension of arms supply requested by Putin would be transitory, with weapons flows resumed once a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia had set forth restrictions on its military might.
Russia’s first full-scale invasion, which took place in February 2022, saw a rise in Ukrainian arms production of 10 % or 30 % of its needed weapons, but it still relies on other nations for more advanced weapons. Around 30 % of Ukraine’s military needs are currently met by Europe , and 40 % by the U.S. .
The telephone conversation between Putin and Trump may also cover the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, which has been occupied by Russia and other countries since the start of the conflict.
The energy plant, which is located deep inside southeastern Ukraine, is “on the borders” between Russia, Ukraine, and White House Press, according to Secretary Karoline Leavitt. That sparked rumors about possible geographical agreements as part of the peace process to Russia and the United States.
