A professor uses the phrase” thug,” just like a black person is called a” thug.”
According to City University of New York Professor Peter Beinart, it is “racist” to refer to Hamas as a “terrorist” organization.
According to his faculty profile, he “teaches social science and regional monitoring at the Newmark J-School” and at the CUNY Graduate Center. Beeinart, a CNN critic, debated Jeffrey Lax, a pro-Israel teacher who is actively fighting against racism in the town school system.
Lax and Beinart debated the contentious work beginning for” Arab Studies” at Hunter College that included a job description for an activist. The posting was ordered taken down by Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul, and it is already being revised, as The College Fix just reported.
Lax inquired about Hamas ‘ status as a criminal organization during the conversation that was posted yesterday on X.
Beinart criticized Hamas for committing war crimes, but said he didn’t want to use the word “terrorist” because it should also be used to describe both America and Israel. Additionally, according to Beinart, the word “racist” is used.
The doctor claimed,” I believe Hamas committed war atrocities.” I oppose Hamas ‘ history of attacking civilians with all of my being because I believe it to be evil and a violation of international law.
” The reason I don’t like the term criminal is that it only gets applied to what Palestinians do, and I’ve seen so many Palestinians who’ve experienced evil, best,” he said.
He added that:
Because it only applies to Palestinians and Muslims, I don’t want to use a word that I believe has become sexist. It applies to all of America, not just America. It’s never been used against Israel or our friends.
I want to discuss battle acts because of this.
Lax once more pressed Beinart about why he doesn’t refer to violence despite his desire to denounce Hamas for what transpired on October 7, 2023.
He said:
Because there are certain conditions that only apply to one team, I wouldn’t want to contact a black man a gangster, even if they did something terrible because I believe it has a racial bias.
In light of these factors, I prefer to use more objective language when talking about war atrocities, morality, and global rules violations.
Lax described the remarks as” disturbing” and said he hopes Beinart “rethinks” his position, claiming that the journalist had changed his mind about various issues.
There is nothing wrong with being a terrorist because it is unrelated to your race, ethnicity, religion, or ethnicity. It is related to what you do.
