According to the Denver District Attorney’s Office, a person who struck a deal and admitted guilt to human smuggling on January 1 was given a sentence of 21 years in prison.
According to court documents, William Galbreath admitted guilt on one count of people prostitution. The agreement removed additional charges of rape, money laundering, and removing a security order from his situation.
According to a media release from the Denver District Attorney’s Office, Denver District Court Judge Nikea Bland also gave the order for Galbreath to file as a sex offender.
The district attorney’s office wrote in the news release that Galbreath “identified several vulnerable people, coerced them into having business intercourse with false promises of large sums of money, and created false businesses to launder the proceeds of the business sex” between April 2021 and April 2024.
After pleading guilty to pimping in 2020, he continued to be on a 4-year controlled parole, the district attorney’s office claimed.
According to his arrest affidavit, Galbreath qualified people who were young, poor, or struggling with habit. He promised them “great fortunes,” but he only gave them small sums of money and kept their bank account details.
According to the district attorney’s office, he” controlled their everyday life and all factors of their money.”
