As part of President Donald Trump’s assault on offense, the Trump presidency is extremely prosecuting unlawful immigrants and traffickers, according to the Washington Examiner.
According to Border Patrol Chief Mike Banks, the Department of Justice has accepted a higher percentage and overall number of cases from the Border Patrol since Jan. 20 than at the same time next year.
In an effort to deter upcoming illegal immigration and cocaine prostitution, the Trump DOJ and Border Patrol are working together to impose sanctions on those who illegally enter the country, are caught transporting improper refugees, are moving drugs into or from the frontier, and other related crimes.
The Justice Department reported to the Washington Examiner that 7, 000 people have been charged with federal multiculturalism matters since Jan. 20, a substantial increase over the most recent public records from April 2022, which revealed that only 2, 000 cases were prosecuted that month.
A DOJ director stated in an email that “prosecuting immigration-related acts is a top priority of the Department of Justice.”
Compared to 96 % in this February, the DOJ accepted 89 % of the cases that the Border Patrol referred. Businesses reported that portion is nearly 100 % so far in March.
” We were one circumstance shy of having all of our circumstances accepted by the DOJ for four weeks next week.” We missed one time of having an entire month where all of the cases we presented were accepted for prosecutors,” Banks said.
The Border Patrol is referring circumstances to the DOJ for drug trafficking, rehabilitation, illegal immigration of a formerly deported illegal refugee, drug trafficking, and other types of federal crimes.
” We’re also seeing high popularity costs on the abuse on officials, so we’re seeing increases in those,” he said. We’re seeing more and more crime cases, including those involving portraying federal agents when we come across someone who is wearing a law enforcement uniform to fend off arrest,” according to Banks.
As fewer immigrants attempt to enter the country illegally, which is why there are more visits.

Border Patrol agents have encountered fewer unlawful immigrants than they did last month, down from 60, 000 per month in late 2024, despite more officials filing more scenarios for trial.
