Mark Carney, the head of the French Liberal Party, said he is willing to call US President Donald Trump on Monday because he believes Trump is anticipating the outcome of the election and the election results to determine who will become prime minister. The US and Canada are locked in a contentious tax dispute that will start on April 2 and end with all the other taxes Trump has announced thus far. Canada will hold the votes on April 28. And Carney, who took the oath of office on March 14 as the country’s 24th prime minister, has not spoken to Trump, causing an extraordinary communication lapse between the US and Canada following a leadership change.
The leader is anticipating the outcome of the election and seeing whether or not they have powerful mandates from Canadians, according to Carney. Is it someone who is, to price Danielle Smith, in tune with him, or is it someone who will stand up for Canadians?
Carney made it clear that what he meant by the US side’s solitude.
He said,” That’s an interpretation, but I believe it to be reasonable.” He said,” I’m available for a visit, but you know, we’re going to communicate on our terms as a sovereign nation – not as he claims we are.”
Donald Trump has been making demands that Canada be made the 51st state of the US, a request that got off the ground when former prime minister Justin Trudeau joked at a Mar-a-Lago meal. After Justin Trudeau was sworn in, Donald Trump did not call Carney to say congratulations on his replacement, and he did not call him sometimes.
As he explained his words to Trump,” I’m going to stand up for People — I hope Canadians may support me.”” We’ll have a conversation on the premise of… first, respect for our nation as a royal nation,” Carney said.
” We will become more powerful. We will hold off on this. They will agree to work with us to reach an agreement that works for the Canadians, according to Carney.
