There is a myth that fresh citizens tend to lean far to the left, which is prevalent. I recall a statement that some people mistakenly attribute to Winston Churchill as saying,” You have no heart when you’re not a liberal when you’re 25 .” By the time you’re 35, you’re hardly a liberal, by that point you have no mind.

Yet, the election of 2024 has taught us something new: many of our younger voters have more brains than younger citizens of the same time. My oldest daughter, Kenzie, turns 20 on Tuesday, and I’ve already told this tale before. I asked her what it was like to cast her first ballot in Georgia on the day of the key. When Trump lost in 2020, Mackenzie responded,” I was hoping he had work again so I may vote for him.”
Young America’s Foundation (YAF )’s recent polls reveal how much of the electorate has shifted to the right. We’re even discovering a bit about what motivates these young citizens.
Spencer Brown, the YAF’s Chief Communications Officer, and I, my original Townhall partner, shared some important lessons from the survey:
- In the 2024 presidential election, more youthful liberals voted for Donald Trump than younger liberals voted for Kamala Harris.
- More than half of fresh liberals claim that in recent years, their attitudes on cultural issues have “much more” shifted to the left.
- Fresh liberals claim that their political beliefs are informed by their own experiences, people, and religion rather than being “brainwashed” by powerful website influencers.
- Fresh liberals are more likely than their democratic or separate peers to feel at ease sharing their opinions in the midst of the 2024 election.
- Young Americans continue to be most concerned about the cost of living, employment, and the business.
- Most young Americans believe that the United States may play a small part in resolving the issues between Israel and its allies in Ukraine.
- The major media don’t be trusted, according to a majority of younger progressives, liberals, and politicians.
- The majority of young people believe that major transformation is required for the federal government.
- 69 percent of young voters believe it is cruel for the government to continue funding projects that increase the national debt, a problem they don’t want to be burdened by.

84 % of young Trump voters said their vote was a vote for Trump, while 15 % described it as a vote against Kamala Harris. A strong president who accomplishes stuff was cited as the top trait of nearly 60 % of Trump voters in this age group.
The candidates ‘ media images were another interesting issue for youthful citizens. According to Brown,” Young Trump voters were more likely to be influenced by the president’s looks on Joe Rogan’s radio, working a switch at McDonald’s, or being shot in the Butler, Pennsylvania, protest assassination attempt than young Harris citizens were influenced by her look on the” Cal Her Daddy” radio, having prominent entertainers at her rallies, or being declared” Brat” by song CharliXCX.”
Who’s Got the Joy? is related to  . You Might Be Surprised
Conservatives in this group describe themselves as more cheerful and nationalistic, while young liberals claim they often feel proud of the United States and don’t have a positive outlook on the future.
Young voters also use their personal experiences, their families, and their beliefs to shape their political opinions, according to Brown. Compared to only three percent of liberals, 19 % of youthful conservatives said their religious views were what they listened to most. In spite of claims that those who migrated to the correct in 2024 were brainwashed by the likes of Ben Shapiro and Joe Rogan, it was actually a conscious decision made based on their own encounters, families, and religion.

In their movements to the right or left, young voters are following older voters ‘ footsteps. Younger liberals report moving more to the straight on social and economic issues, while the majority of younger liberals report being more liberal. This generation of voters may show even bigger holes between the right and left as the lines between the lines become even more oblique.
Unexpectedly, the youth vote played a role in Trump’s win. We might be able to rely on this generation of young voters to contribute to Keep America Great in the future if these changes are correct.
