Gov. Greg Abbott also participated in the North Carolina fire emergency. As firefighters battled the Table Rock Fire in the Blue Ridge Mountains on Saturday, Governor Henry McMaster (R-S. C. ) declared a state of emergency.
The State of Emergency allows us to quickly mobilize resources and make sure our firefighters have the support they need to defend lives and property, according to McMaster. The state’s burning restrictions will remain in effect until further notice due to the state’s increased risk of fire. Someone who disobeys this prohibition may and may go to prison.
