President Donald Trump has expressed interest in purchasing the automatic Danish place, and US Vice President JD Vance made a statement on Tuesday that he would follow his family Usha Vance on her upcoming trip to Greenland.
Vance, a outspoken supporter of Trump’s foreign policy objective, announced that he would also check on the security situation in the area while visiting US Space Force officers stationed in Greenland.
In a film speech, Vance said,” I decided that I didn’t want her to have all that excitement by herself because there was so much enthusiasm surrounding Usha’s visit to Greenland this Friday.”
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has been harshly criticized for his statement, which comes after the US Second Lady visited both Greenland and Denmark.
On Saturday, Usha Vance may travel to Greenland to compete in the nation’s national dogsled race in Sisimiut. According to reports from Greenlandic media, the US embassy in Nuuk has largely sponsored the occasion.
Trump has reined his force for the US to get Greenland since taking office in January, citing security concerns. He has ruled out the possibility of using army, which would only add to the tension.
Vance argued in his movie that the territory’s proper significance should be made known, claiming that other countries are using Greenland to” harm the United States, to intimidate Canada, and, of course, to harm the people of Greenland.”
Speaking for President Trump, Vance continued,” We want to revive the safety of the people of Greenland.”
Trump’s expansionist rhetoric has also recently prompted more concern about Canada’s suggestion that it should be the “51st condition” of the United States.
Greenland and Denmark have been up against the US authorities ‘ sessions, which have caused political unrest. You can’t arrange a private visit with established members of another state, says Frederiksen, who condemned the journey.
According to reports, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright and US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz are also scheduled to visit Greenland this month.
The visit comes at a vulnerable moment in Greenland’s political environment, as events continue to bargain for a new coalition state following the March 11 votes.
Greenland has huge aspired for greater freedom from Copenhagen as a Danish self-governing place. The area has significant, undiscovered material and oil reserves, but uranium and oil extraction is still prohibited.
Greenland has attracted growing political attention from the United States, China, and Russia, more complicating the position as Arctic sea roads become more visible as a result of climate change.
