Testimony said that thousands of Palestinians chanted anti-Hamas phrases during a sporadic demonstration in northeastern Gaza on Tuesday, calling for the end of Israel’s conflict.
A year after Israel’s government began severe attack of the Gaza Strip following nearly two months of a peace, the protesters chanted” Hamas out” and” Hamas terrorists” in Beit Lahia.
Since the fight started in October 2023, this is being referred to as the “largest anti-Hamas demo.”
Enough with the battle, I say.
According to reports organization AFP, at least one rally appeal was made available on the social media platform Telegram.
” I don’t know who organized the demonstration. But I showed up in order to say to the people,” Enough with the war,” Mohammed, a lecturer who avoided violence.
Mohammed added that he witnessed “members of the Hamas safety troops in human clothes” escalating the demonstration.
Another activist, Majdi, who did not want to be identified, claimed that the “people are tired.”
” If Hamas leaving strength in Gaza is the answer, why don’t they give up power to protect the people” is a question that Hamas asks. he inquired.
Unfamiliar sources are sending out Telegram messages to encourage people to show on Wednesday in different parts of Gaza as well.
Hamas in Gaza is unsatisfied with it?
It’s difficult to quantify the level of dissatisfaction with the Islamist motion, which has been operating in the Arab territory since 2007.
According to the most recent survey conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research in September 2024, 35 % of Palestinians in Gaza said they supported Hamas, and 26 % of those same same party, Fatah, the party of Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority president Mahmud Abbas.
Monther al-Hayek, Fatah’s official in Gaza, has urged Hamas to” move away from governing” to prevent the “existence” of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The conflict in Gaza
According to an AFP tally based on official figures, the Gaza Strip has been devastated by the more than 17-month Israel-Hamas war, which was sparked by the Arab team’s assault on Israel on October 7, 2023, which resulted in the deaths of 1, 218 persons, mostly civilians.
At least 50, 021 people have died in Gaza as a result of Israel’s hostile defense offensive, mostly citizens, according to the Gazan health department.
Hamas released some of the Jewish and international victims it had abducted on October 7 thanks to a peace that was brokered by the United States, Qatar, and Egypt in January. Israel released Arab prisoners from their cells as a result. The stalemate came to an end on March 18th.
At least 792 Palestinians have died since Israel resumed its military activities in Gaza, according to the Hamas-run territory’s health department.
