A scholar from Western Kentucky says he wants to assist people who are searching for life’s meaning.
A different form of social media trend is starting to gain popularity among college students, including writing the Gospel of John, an entire text of the Bible, on campus sidewalks.
It appears to have started in North Carolina next slide and has since spread to states like Alabama and Kentucky.
The College Heights Herald reports that 70 students at Eastern Kentucky University spent several hours writing the book, which consists of 21 sections and 879 lyrics, on the school sidewalks this month.
According to the report, individuals from Baptist Campus Ministry, Cru, and Hilltoppers for Christ were all a part of the project.
The thought came from other individuals on social media, according to Cameron Shaw, a mature and chairman of the Baptist Campus Ministry.
Similar events have occurred at a number of colleges across North Carolina since late 2024 according to an accounts called” Gospel Chalk Movement” on TikTok.
” We hope to build a path that other universities can follow when well,” said Shaw. …
” I know at BCM that almost every year, especially for students, there is an increase in individuals who are just genuinely passionate about the Gospel, what faith is, and who Jesus is,” he said.
Individuals at North Carolina State University, Western Carolina University, UNC Charlotte, and the University of Alabama Birmingham are depicted in photos on Gospel Chalk Movement’s Instagram website. Some of the articles have more than 200, 000 wants.
The Christian individuals involved in the project talked about the research for meaning that some young people are experiencing both in the social media posts and the media interviews. They think the responses are found in the Bible passages.
According to Eastern Kentucky top Luke Alford,” People look for answers in a lot of different things, and I think it’s really nice to have answers right in front of them.”
