Previous North Dakota State Senator Raymon” Ray” Kennedy Holmberg, a Republican, was sentenced on Wednesday to 10 years in prison after regularly traveling to Europe and paying to” biologically abuse kids”.
In a Wednesday press release, the U. S. Department for Justice announced that court records showed the 81-year-old senator traveled to Prague in the Czech Republic about 14 days between 2011 and 2021. During the past senator’s trips, Holmberg “paid for sexual acts with males” while staying at a house that” catered to people looking to engage in commercial intercourse with child boys”.
The Justice Department explained that Holmberg used the name” Sean Evans” as an alias since he did not like his name to be included on the brothel’s register according to his position as a North Dakota state senator. Also, witnesses told law enforcement officials that the 81-year-old visited a public garden in Prague to “procure sex from young kids”.
” Holmberg also used the’ Evans ‘ alias to tell friends about his visits and encourage them to go to Prague. In these connections, Holmberg shared an image of an prepubescent boy that he called’ his dweeb,’ and said that’ no one is ever to]sic ] younger… consider Prague,'” the Justice Department stated. ” He emailed a different friend a link to a brothel in Prague and suggested that they go that summer, writing:’ The boys rent at around$ 60… , ( sex is extra ). ‘”  ,

Holmberg’s contact added,” It will be indulgent but oh so much fun mate.  , What happens in Prague—Stays in Prague”.
In addition to the internet, the Justice Department said the previous Republican senator “boasted” that he had “engaged in physical action” with 12-year-old and 15-year-old kids during his visits to Europe.
In Wednesday’s press release, the Justice Department said Holmberg’s story of sexually exploiting adolescents was” not restricted” to his international trips. Law enforcement officials said the original senator also had an online relationship with a 16-year-old American teenager and pretended to be close in age to the child” to control the Canadian youth into taking images of himself engaging in sexually explicit conduct and sending them to Holmberg”.
According to The Post Millennial, the 81-year-old resigned from his position in 2022 and was later indicted on federal charges in October of 2023. The outlet noted that Holmberg previously served as the chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee in the North Dakota State Senate and was the head of Legislative Management.
In a statement obtained by KFGO following Holmberg’s sentencing, North Dakota lawmakers said,” Ray Holmberg’s evil crimes require reflection and careful review of policy to determine how best to combat crimes against children. In the coming months, we intend to do that with sober judgment and a firm resolve”.
