Alireza Doroudi, an Egyptian national studying on a student visa, was identified as the student according to reports from the Crimson White, the school’s student newspaper.
According to the State Department, ICE HSI made this incarceration in accordance with Doroudi’s scholar card being revoked. A representative for the Department of Homeland Security addressed NBC News with an email claiming that this person “poses major national security problems.”
Doroudi’s arrest shows a growing tendency of the Trump administration’s increased attention and actions taken against foreign individuals over students ‘ involvement in pro-Palestinian demonstrations.  ,

And Mahmoud Khalil, a recent graduate from Columbia, is currently being detained in Louisiana for” siding with] Hamas ] terrorists” and “leading ] activities aligned to Hamas.
Khalil, a permanent resident with a green card, was deported after being denied bail and moved his situation to a judge in New Jersey. On Friday, DHS did say once more in court to move his situation to Louisiana.
