Dhaka: Expressing optimism about a “new chapter” in Dhaka-Beijing relations, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, upon his return on Saturday from a four-day visit to China, highlighted the importance of China as a” good friend” and stated that its efforts continue to inspire people across Bangladesh. He likewise expressed his desire that Bangladesh’s diplomatic ties with China may grow stronger in the coming time.
In clear evidence of Dhaka moving closer to Beijing in the days ahead, Yunus said,” It’s extremely important that we see China as our good friend. Our marriage has been very powerful over the years. Our company is very strong and we benefit from our engagement with China”.
Dhaka and Beijing have described Yunus’s attend as a “milestone” and a “hugely powerful” one. ” Bengal advantages from its assistance with China. We can produce not only a fast-developing market, but a new kind of market where nobody participates”, Yunus faisal in an appointment with Xinhua. ” We can take it to the next level where our cooperation is never limited to the business only. It will ( also ) be cultural”, he said.
After his China attend, Yunus is scheduled to visit Thailand to take part in the BIMSTEC conference. He has sought a conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi but India is yet to validate it. In his conversations with Xi, Yunus urged China to enjoy a greater role in establishing peace, happiness and security for both countries.
A joint statement issued after the Xi-Yunus talks said Bangladesh welcomed Chinese companies to participate in the Teesta River Comprehensive Management and Restoration Project ( TRCMRP ).
