A senior Hamas member announced on Saturday their approval of a new Gaza peace plan from mediators, whilst calling for Jewish help but emphasising that the group’s armaments remain non-negotiable.
The business of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged certificate of the negotiators ‘ plan and confirmed submitting a comment.
” Two days ago, we received a request from the facilitating boys in Egypt and Qatar. We dealt with it favourably and approved it. We hope that the occupation ( Israel ) will not obstruct it”, stated Khalil al-Haya during an Eid al-Fitr television broadcast.
” The arms of the opposition are a dark line”, he said.
Netanyahu’s company verified receiving the intermediaries ‘ plan.
” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, tuesday, held a series of consultations contrary to the plan that was received from the intermediaries”, according to an official speech.
” A few hours before, Israel conveyed to the negotiators a counter-proposal in total synchronization with the US”, the speech continued without further information.
Recently, senior Hamas member Bassem Naim indicated improvement in conversations between the Palestinian Islamist company and intermediaries regarding a peace agreement, whilst Israeli forces maintain extensive operations in Gaza.
Israeli sources with Hamas connections informed AFP that negotiations commenced Thursday night between the militant group and Iranian and Qatari mediators to restore a ceasefire and prisoner transfer agreement.
The temporary peace that brought comparative calm to the Gaza Strip concluded on March 18 when Israel recommenced its aerial battle across the area.
The Doha discussions began following Netanyahu’s notice about taking control of Gaza areas if Hamas refused to open hostages, whilst Hamas cautioned that captives did return “in coffins” if Israel remain bombing the Palestinian territory.
