US Vice President JD Vance strongly condemned army combat veteran and political commentator Fred Wellman after being labelled the “worst VP in modern history.” Wellman, host of On Democracy with FPWellman, criticised Vance in a social media post, sharing a video of him condemning Denmark’s handling of Greenland.
” Only disgusting conduct by the worst President in current history”, Wellman wrote in his article, referencing Vance’s remarks about Denmark’s part in protecting Greenland.
Vance wasted no time in responding, accusing his detractors of wanting to “turn Europe into a continuous protectorate”. ” These individuals want to change Europe into a continuous territory. The problem: if it was ever a good idea, it is just not green with$ 2 trillion in annual shortfalls”, Vance said.
The vice chairman made these comments during a visit to the Pituffik Space Base in northern Greenland. At a press conference, he took aim at Denmark’s method to Greenland, criticising its degree of investment in the region.
” Our message to Denmark is very simple: You have never done a great job by the citizens of Greenland”, Vance said during his visit. ” You have under-invested in the persons of Greenland and you have under-invested in the security architecture of this incredible, wonderful territory”.
US President Donald Trump has much argued that Greenland is vital to US national and global security, actually suggesting that army should not be ruled out as a means of securing the Arctic area. ” We are not talking about harmony for the United States. We are talking about universe peace. We are talking about global surveillance”, Trump told investigators at the White House on Friday.
When questioned about the possible use of force, Vance reassured that defense behavior was not under consideration. ” We think this makes sense and because we think the folks of Greenland are pragmatic and great, we think we’re going to be able to reduce a package, Donald Trump-style, to ensure the safety of this country but also the United States of America”, he said.
