A disturbing video surfaced electronically showing a Texas junior high school student being brutally beaten by another instructor, while people stood by with little urgency to stop the violence.
The attack took place at Harwood junior high school in Bedford, Texas, the university confirmed in a letter to families, as reported by WFAA.
Images of the abuse showed the offender straddling the victim’s breasts, punching him in the mind relentlessly, as the child struggled to avoid. The target attempted to get up at one place, only to be tackled again down onto the concrete surface.
As the assault unfolded, the child looked around desperately for aid, but rather, other pupils cheered, recording the event on their phones, making screaming noises while he continued to experience blows to his mouth and the back of his head.
Educators failed to engage properly. Two grownup men could be seen in the movie approaching the combat carefully, one of them still holding a flask, before gently pulling the intruder away without restraining him. Moments later, as the perpetrator stood up, he stomped on the defendant’s mind, knocking him unconscious.
Despite the severity of the invasion, no one rushed to help the comatose student for at least 20 seconds. Instead, spectators continue watching, and no people are immediately obvious.
It is still unclear how hard the student was injured or if he required medical care.
In a letter to parents, the director of Harwood Junior High confirmed the incident occurred on school premises and stated that a full inspection was afoot.
” But, I want to emphasize that fighting is a seriously inappropriate behavior, and this type of event is completely unacceptable”, the main wrote, according to WFAA.
” The incident is being taken very seriously, including investigation of the complete sequence of events using video and interviews, surrounding context, actions of additional students and staff, and district processes related to student fights”, the letter added, quoted by the New York Post.
The Bedford police department also investigated the incident and referred the case to the Tarrant county juvenile justice system, according to a statement posted on Facebook.
