Drone limits sparked by a flurry of strange occurrences across New Jersey  , are set to expire this weekend , — even though their causes still remain vague.
The Federal Aviation Administration announced , the bans , past fortnight, barring uncrewed plane from operating within a “nautical hour” of the airport over more than two dozen towns and municipalities — much of it over” essential New Jersey infrastructure”— including from the ground up to 400 feet.
The restrictions were implemented after , flocks of robots were spotted buzzing over New Jersey  , and half a dozen different states, including New York and Pennsylvania.
The “fixed-wing planes” first appeared in the Garden State in soon November, in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, and continued for months. People reported the robots, some of them in packs as large as eight, generally zipping around the airport over late- and northern New Jersey, including , near Donald Trump’s National Golf Club , in Bedminster and the Picatinny Arsenal Military Center in Rockaway.
The strange occurrences riled citizens and officials everywhere, including , the president-elect, who suggested shooting them out of the horizon. Some, like Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew, speculated the planes were , being sent over from Iran , — a state immediately rejected by governmental authorities.
White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby said many of the helicopter sightings in New Jersey were really freely operated guarded plane, and that they , posed no national security or common risk.
The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security echoed the sentiment, saying their investigation uncovered no evidence to suggest the clusters of drones are linked to a “foreign nexus”.
